Suicide Lies: Demo Review By Ninja

Although Metal is a common occurrence the world over, it has been proven time and again that my home soil of the Pacific Northwest is a particularly fertile ground for music and wild enough still to produce varietal evolution in the growth of the genre. Case in point, the band Suicide Lies from Cashmere, Washington. Despite having been together for only a short time, it's clear from this demo that time has no effect on the passion to play, being a solid creation based on a combination of talent and emotion based on the history of the members of the band- Brian Cahoon (guitar), Erik Ellis (bass), Jeff Knemeyer (vox), Tyler Fortner (drums), Shad Harlan (guitar)- who have all had someone close to them taken away through suicide, prompting the name of the band itself. Starting out, the anger of "Die" calls out The Negative everywhere and forces it to its knees before the reserved strength and well- handled guitar solos of "My Savior" guides you down the path of harnessing your own inner power through positive thought and self- dependence. "Belittled" carries the halfway point, railing against domestic disturbance as "Fear No Evil" hangs close on its heels with an intro like Eric Draven wailing on the rooftops leading into seamless change- ups in speed and vocals throughout, walking you through the fires to the final track "Sorrow", which shines through as a powerful and soul- searching ballad displaying the musical skill that one hopes will carry this band far into the future.

The feelings of vocalist Matthiew "Milka" Miegeville as expressed at the end of "Anchorage" is what every serious musician should feel at the end of their creation. Along with bandmates Tristan Mocquet decimating the ivories and Yohan Hennequin superhuman on drums, there has been brought to life an album where every song, every song title speaks my life and I am entranced and amazed, one after the other, drowning in my own thoughts and feelings, my own force merging with this entity as I immerse myself in these sonic overtures and I am near to tears through the memories brought to the surfaces of my many seas at the call of the music, sounds and words that mirror the development of my own psyche; Hard, angry and slightly mystical in its discordance, this is not "Experimental"- this is a deliberate communication from the universe to all those willing to listen.

If you want to have your soul torn to ribbons at the first note of a new album and have it continue to do so, you would be hard pressed to be disappointed by "Death Domination", the new Metal Blade release from Impious. Bursting at the seams with the most exquisite blackness, you can almost hear the angels begin weeping at the first notes of "Abomination Glorified" and "I Am The King" makes you want to round up your marauders and enslave entire cities. Ripping through "Hate Killing Project", "As Death Lives In Me" and "Irreligious State Of War", the majesty continues and you find yourself wrapped in a comfortable cocoon of top- notch Black Metal the whole time. This is the kind of album that molds you into its own image and won't take no for an answer.

Monster, Violet, Shooter, Goblin, and Chuckles again found themselves in the station of the damned and had the opportunity to invite and introduce a couple guest DJs before breaking into chaos!

Local up-and-coming author and first time DJ, The Keeper, briefly graced the airwaves as she chimed in on some of the random discussions through the night.

Additionally, all the way from across the Atlantic, we brought to you, The Russian! This silent, methodical mistress of metal madness was kind enough to pick out some music from the archives and provide metal for our cadavers by choosing Inhale/Exhale, Havoc Hate, Haste The Day, 1349, Six Feet Under, and one of her personal favorites, Suicide Silence. Apparently, Russia knows all about metals!

The topics of the night seemed to revolve almost completely around bad parenting from the woman in Tennessee that played Highlander in her kid's elementary school, to the lady in Georgia (and them many like her everywhere else) that didn't realize she was pregnant until she shit the kid out in the toilet, and the drunk guy in Colorado that sicked his two kids on the police that came to remove him from the playland of a McDonald's.

Our non-musical entertainment involved webisodes of illwillpress.com's Foamy and a discussion on the cool factor of the newly released to DVD and Blu-Ray, Boondock Saints 2!

This week, Monster pulls the same strings straight out of the chest of our cadavers and goeas on a murderous rampage, providing music of the serial caliber, bringing up discussion and music that focuses specifically on serial killers and mass murderers of real-life and silver screen alike!

The Morgue is the breeding grounds for wholesale slaughter in music and discussion! Each DJ talks about their favorite serial murderers, their favorite on-screen slasher, their preferred target types, and where have serial killers gone wrong.

This week, Monster, Violet, Butcher, Goblin, Fresh, Meat, and Chuckles were on duty to provide the highest quality autopsy possible! The rhythm of this one was a bit different as the music and discussion alternated with extreme contrast.
The introduction of the Morgue happened after nearly an hour of metal from Six Feet Under, Suffocation, Aeon, Keep of Kalessin, and Origin.
This week was a full discussion of odd news events like a woman in Maryland dropping her freshly delivered baby into a porta-potty and then trying to bum a smoke from construction workers directly afterward. A man in Salem Oregon pulled an idiot drive-by on a tricycle while harrassing a man in a car. China made it into our news with their censorship slip a few weeks back and the fact that there is now a debate from Google on whether or not they will service the entire country.
The next hour brought Kreator, Dimmu Borgir, Fear My Thoughts, Immortal, Skinless, and Forktung before a huge argument erupted on air about when to classify a post-op man as a woman and vice versa. The gender confusion lasted for quite some time before signing off for the morning! Join the Morgue community and sound off your opinion of this debate!

Mayhem 2010 is dead

The official release of bands set to play at this summer's Mayhem festival has caused mass suicides, lost love, and anal seepage from millions across the globe!

The first Mayhem saw great bands for a premier showing including Slipknot, Disturbed, Dragonforce, Machine Head, and Five Finger Death Punch. Not the heaviest of shows but a solid line-up for a fresh out of the great festival.

The second Mayhem Shot into the stratosphere with Trivium, Slayer, Cannibal Corpse, and Behemoth among others and proved to the world that, yes, America can have a festival with balls as well!

Here we are in 2010, looking forward to our metal future and BLEAK is not a word that properly describes the vomit that has spewed onto our almost proud metal offering. This year we take a break from heavy and talent to be given get Atreyu, Norma Jean, and KORN! Yeah, fucking KORN!

Ladies and gentlemen, Mayhem is dead. Let's hope that next year will see a resurrection.

The Morgue Radio Show kicked off with Monster and Violet, along with Butcher, Fresh and Meat. In no time, additional DJs Goblin and Chuckles found their way into the sterile halls of the autopsy room and the explosive and vulgar conversations were quickly underway between heavy tracks from Insanity, Polterchrist, Autumn Black, and Finntroll.

Violet, obsessing about pornography and rectal stretching was eager to find every DJ's first experience with printed porn and curious about what was the filthiest thing we have all read, which prompted responses from Grim Fairy Tales, Suicide Blond, and a slew of long forgotten fiction books with alien sex before jumping back into the audio destruction from Immortal, Skinless, Armentar, and Stormlord.

Morgue Resurrects in 2010

Our first autopsy of 2010, The Morgue broadcasts the vocal death rattles of Monster, Violet, Butcher, and Mikey Mike.

This autopsy is opened with great power from the devastating Man Must Die and was followed up by the Deathstars. The show was pretty musically intensive for the first part of the night while the morticians were still shaking the earth of the grave from their hair, so cadavers got blasted by tracks from Armentar, Destroy Destroy Destroy, Cannibal Corpse, Darkane, and Behemoth among others.

Once the morticians did get their vocal chords vibrating, the sound was about politics and the thousands of new laws that rolled into place on New Year's day and the Obama family's blatant and disgusting shift from politician to television super-celebrities, causing more people to be interested in their guest appearances on brainless TV shows than on their shoddy politics.

Politics weren't the only thing on the minds and tongues of The Morgue's mental morticians as conversation sprouted from enema induced ass cannons to Sesame Street muppets as well as the news of acting legend, Christopher Lee's decision to create a metal band solely to brag about his ancestry.

A couple musical observations of the night: First- The band 1349 recently released the album Revelations Of The Black Flame which is musically a completely different sound than what 1349 fans are accustomed to...to what metal fans are accustomed to...in fact, it barely classifies as music unless it is used on a movie score and only during a really slow point.
Second- Arch Enemy recently released an album, The Root Of All Evil that is nothing more than a glorified greatest hits of their earlier work while with singer Johan Liiva but recreated to showcase current vocalist, Angela Gossow's vocal talents instead of their former male frontman. Not an essential album and not exciting.

Well, tonight was a pretty damn crazy night on KWCW 90.5!

Last week, Fresh issued a challenge in which each DJ (and listener) write a story using 20 random Indie Rock band names. Well, Aside of myself, she was the only DJ to complete this challenge.

Most importantly; It seems that for the first time in our 5 year history, someone on the show was more charged in the loins than I, Violet went intercourse crazy and insisted on asking the packed booth of DJs about things that most psychiatrists don't get to know about! Between tracks from High On Fire, Suffocation, Obituary, Proofed, The Crown, and Vomitory, we learned what secret and dirty fetishes each of our 9+ DJs harbored! Here is a basic rundown, prepare to tremble:

Violet- This freak of a DJ had multiple, which include choking, spanking, and ropes!
Goblin- Not surprisingly, this little razor toothed bastard likes biting!
Chuckles- Maybe it was embarrassment or fear but all we got were dirty looks from this one.
Mikey Mike- Our visiting Portland DJ was a fan of binding.
Fresh- This fiesty frenzy of a girl has inclinations toward choking and submission.
Meat- Perhaps the craziest of them, Mr. Meat loves sauces, chocolate, spaghetti, cheese....mm-mmm
Blade- What is it with girls and their desire to be hurt? Miss Blade likes receiving pain.
Ninja- Mister rosy cheeks could barely squeek out his feeble 'accents' fetish but our argument was that is a preference. We all know though, between the lactations and the toilet serenades...
Wraith Mistress-Chalk up another lady that has a preference for being forced upon.
Monster- I was forced to only give one and to make it something no one knows about so I discussed (and had to explain) my interest in ladies that are made up to look like action figures.

This was pretty much the highlight of the show this last Saturday night (though, by far, not the only topic of deviant discussion)! Tune in next week to see what more trouble we can get into.

Behemoth - Evangelion

Polish musicians, Behemoth just released their latest full-length album, Evangelion, showing the world that some metal, unlike Metallica, does get better with age!

This nine album epic metal CD provides a solid force of sound to ram your cranium against as you thrash your limbs like an epileptic jack-in-the-box while trying to keep up with the full-on assault crashing through your speakers!

Beyond the super descriptive displays (like mine above), spending time with the music on the CD, the footage on the included DVD, and with the booklet within the case, a person cannot help but understand the intense depth of passion that each member of Behemoth have for their music, especially if all of this is compounded with the experience of meeting this band in person and feeling the love for their careers pouring out of them.

Beyond a musical level, there is a drive for intimate knowledge of the world, the realm, in which most people just exist, these guys don't just live...they prosper! No matter your religious preference, your scientific beliefs, or your philosophy, these guys do more than challenge your way of thinking (maybe even encourage some of us to step our own game up), they back their words with their findings, allowing them to be infinitely more than shock metal with a crush on Satan.
All things non-musical to the side; this album is another epic win for a band that never quits! If you enjoyed their Demigod album, this will blow you away.

In the broadcasting station on Saturday, we found Monster and Violet along with Ninja, CS, Butcher, Goblin and Chuckles for the first time in over two weeks! From vacations to security issues, our last broadcast live was nearly a month ago so this was an exhilarating show for all of the morticians.

Between heavy mounds of ear devastating metal, we enjoyed conversation on the craziness of Scientologist ceremonies, we found that the "Naked Cowboy" is putting in his bid as Mayor of New York Cty, were brought into the news about Maxi Mounds and her issues on breast enlargement, as well as the first hand accounts of Mayhem Fest as told by four of the morticians!

The highlight of this autopsy was when Ninja played the most effeminate cover song ever which led into the revelation that he tries to serenade CS while she's on the toilet! You filthy beast!

Morgue hits 150

Auburn Washington welcomes Rockstar energy drink's Mayhem Festival and the Morgue Radio Show sent Monster and Violet to cover this destructive event...the problem is, we haven't seen them since. We have gotten some e-mails from somewhere along the Oregon coast, complete with pictures. The following are some excerpts:

July 14th:
MAYHEM! Violet and I made it to the motel and it is crawling with metalheads! We load the shit we need and get ready to head out with Ninja and CS when we bump into a kid in a Behemoth shirt that needs a ride to the show. Kid can't be all bad, he has a Behemoth shirt on, so we throw him in the truck and haul ass, reading the dirty parts of the latest Bizarre magazine on the way. A short ride to the VIP parking lot and a long walk along the highway (don't ask), we arrive at the gates of HELL! Thank Satan for the fast passes!
We burst through the gates and the Mayhem automatically kicks off with great gear from a slew of vendors including a Cannibal Corpse comic book! Oh hell yes! The vendor for the great local band, Northwest Royale, even hooked me up with a shirt and the band's latest two CDs for a mere twenty bones! Not only did they sound awesome, but they are great promoters as well.

(NOTE: Skinlab and Mushroomhead were not here...I believe Skinlab was the Sacremento band and Mushroomhead plans to join up later in the tour.)

Whitechapel kicked this shitstorm into gear on the Hot Topic stage and immediately began assaulting the crowd with their brutality! Incredible presence. Northwest Royale pounded through their set and Black Dahlia followed up with one of their own. By this time, Violet and I were out of the pit and hitting the booths to meet the bands. The first of which was Monster's primary reason for attending, Behemoth! Sans corpse paint. This was an incredibly smart and polite bunch of guys that....wait. What the hell.....I meant to say, it is fucking Behemoth! They were evil, Evil, EVIL! I shook hands with EVIL!

God Forbid did their thing and then Job For A Cowboy took the Hot Topic stage and annihilated! This being a huge band for Violet, I found myself being dragged by the wrist into the pile of bodies pressing against the barrier once more. Once the moshing was through, we left the feeding pens of the stages and wandered back to the booths where we found Cannibal fucking Corpse hanging out! YES! Now that comic book of mine has every band member's signature on it! Damn right!

This is where the day ceased to be a straight-forward metal festival. Further into the crowd, Byron Davis, pipes for God Forbid, was found meandering through the same people he was performing for earlier. Violet and I just got back in time for the end of the All That Remains set and placement well to the front of the HT stage again for BEHEMOTH!!! The band storms the stage in full Hell gear, instruments pulsating and immediately explode into the EVIL that they are! EVIL!

The crowd is slamming into one another as hard as the drum skins getting abused on stage. Violet and I were so close, we could almost grab spiked boots. Half way through the set, they Polish metallers continue to entertain by bleeding from the mouth profusely and Nergal has since donned a wicked mask. Then the blood! Erupting from the mouths of all but the drummer, spraying the thousands of screaming and slamming fans! Blood! Did I mention that these guys are evil? EVIL! Violet is drenched in the plasma and loving every second of it! This has been, by far the best performance of the day!

Trivium finishes off the Jagermeister (while I meet Job For A Cowboy and thank them for rocking our balls off). And then, the unstoppable happens...Cannibal Corpse come to tear down the HT stage, which they do with great enthusiasm. Cannibal classics like Fucked With A Knife get pounded into our bodies (as a special dedication to all the ladies) and the pit is somehow excessively brutal, yet immeasurably polite at the same....what....seriously? Okay, the pit was a fucking madhouse!!! Oh, the carnage! Oh, the putrefication! Oh rapture!

With the second and third stages used, abused, recycled, and abused again; those bitches are worn out and done, leaving people no where to roam but toward the main stage of death (with a side stop for nine dollar nachos or beers...seems like the only rape and murder is happening at the concession stand). Famished and needing to piss, Violet and I avoided the main (while Bullet For My Valentine committed audio torture on thousands of unsuspecting victims) to get a bite and then drain the vein at the world's filthiest toilet...one that the golgothan would have to put paper on the seat to sit.

We finally made our way down into the pit just as Killswitch Engage were taking the stage. A clarification, I never have really liked KSE and was not looking forward to the next set, especially when each member took the stage in a tuxedo tank top. I was surprised. Amazed! Their music was good (not astounding, but still good) and their stage presence was top notch! By the end of their set, I forgot that I didn't like them and was in full swing, pumped and ready for Slayer...or so I thought.

Again, Violet and I made our way to the front of the pack and when the thrashers took the stage, we held our own against the wave of hate that rolled in and crashed upon our backs! Within seconds, we were slamming and smashing our neighbors and destroying posers with full force, giving what is being given to us. Unfortunately, a bit over half way through the flaming, thrashing, Slayer set; between fan administered body blows, Tama drum blasts, and full fire from the Marshall stacks, my body needed to release...and I was no Golgothan! Dammit! I would rather lie down in the pit than head to the porcelain parking lot!
I made it back quickly (and probably with passengers) and jumped right back into the thick of things, finishing off the set like a maniac!

Slayer finished and the crowd thinned a little but filled back up as Marilyn Manson took the stage (and tried to smoke out the audience). I haven't been a Manson fan since Holy Wood and haven't even wasted the time or money on his last two albums (in fact, his was one of the only shirts I didn't drop cash on). I will say this- He started hard! He thundered through a track from his latest album and then went back "old town" for the fans, pulling out Tourniquette and a few other great Manson tracks! My astonishment level continued to rise with each sound wracked minute and before long, I found myself yelling, jumping, rocking, and singing along to this androgynous goth-rocker!

When this Mayhem was finished at eleven o'clock, I was physically torn, yet emotionally ready for another nine hours of demolition! We walked away with a ton of gear (including a Manson shirt, even though I didn't plan to buy one), great memories, some new friends, and even a large respect for bands we either never cared for or quit caring about in the past. Manson proved that he can still blast with the best of them, Slayer kept the rudest and most hateful pit (but so wrongfully fun), KSE held their own professionally and energetically, and Behemoth still proved to be the hardest fuckers to ever violate my ears!

Even though the Mayhem Fest has migrated south, we aren't ready to let it go just yet, so Violet and I are headed out o find more fucking adventure! Until we see you again (IF), enjoy some of our photos in case you missed the Mayhem!!!

Access Denied!

Monster and Violet gathered music, letters, and determination as they prepared for Saturday night's show. While driving to the station, the two discussed a great number of things to cover for the night's show and began getting riled up. Tonight was going to be insane!

With anticipation in their eyes, they reached the door but found themselves with improper security clearance! What?! Why the hell? Monster guarded the portal, even tried getting the previous show's DJ to open the door (not realizing that no DJ had been in the station since two o'clock that afternoon) while Violet raced off to try using electronic communications to contact anyone to get that damn door open, but met with no success.

Within time, Monster had found that the only people that appeared were Ninja and Ogre. The three hung out for some time before getting confirmation from Violet that there was no other way in.

This issue will be rectified BEFORE the next show, which won't be airing until July 24th. Monster and Violet are going to be chasing the Mayhem fest for a while!

Hey there, cadavers!

I was doing some online browsing for MAYHEM and I ended up running across the craziest little game! (Okay, it probably isn't extremely crazy but it does seem like a lot of fun)!

The game is called My Brute and when you show up at the site, you get the chance to make your own little brute. By simply typing in your fighter's name, the site generates a cute little fighter for you. If you don't like the way he or she looks, click on the little button to the left of it, near th
e feet and the site will randomly generate a new character until you find something more appealing. You can even change the color scheme of your Brute with the button on the right.

Get your guy or gal started and throw it into the arena for some fighting fun! The site will ask you to set up a password but doesn't ask for anything else!

There is no real complicated game play, just a couple clicks gets you into a fight with another brute and the website A.I. does the rest! It may not be super involved but is an entertaining 3 minutes of the day, regardless!

TOMORROW!!!

That's right, tomorrow is the kick off of the United States best answer to metal festivals, starting at the Sleep Train Amphitheater in Sacremento, California!
This weekend, Monster and Violet will be stuffing their duffel bags FULL of evil and getting ready to head out to the Auburn, Washington site of Rockstar Energy Drink's Mayhem Fest where (as you already know) Behemoth, Cannibal Corpse, and a ton of others will be destroying our ear drums!

At the time of this posting, the Mayhem site is down, most likely due to the insane amount of traffic or (hopefully) some wicked updating action is happening! Regardless, I know of four of the Morgue Morticians (Ninja and CS have glowingly displayed their tix) that are ready and amped to pound heads!

Last time we reported, we let you know that Mushroomhead was now involved, this time we get to tell you that Skinlab is also signed up to bring their heaviness to the metal carnival, at least on the kick off show, and hopefully throughout.

Where the hell is it?

As all of the devoted cadavers of the Morgue might have noticed, both versions of the show did not have new episodes running! Not only did the entire DJ staff bail on the 4th of July, but the new autopsy which belonged on Radio Free Satan has also gone MIA. So, where the hell is it?!

The live autopsy was closed for the holiday but the RFS autopsy can be blamed completely on that lazy bastard, Monster! He was too busy researching information on the line-up for Mayhem and that's all he can talk about! Behemoth this and Cannibal Corpse that! We will work more diligently at keeping that freak on task and we at the Morgue apologize.

With that said, Monster did actually let us know that Behemoth is coming out with their latest release, Evangelion in the beginning of August and it looks HOT!

4th of July show

Saturday was Independence day and the cast of the Morgue Radio Show celebrated the 4th of July in a manner befitting the meaning of this glorious holiday, we all opted to choose freedom!

That's right, just like the deathcry of William Wallace, we sought freedom and, rather than broadcast on a night of festively painted skies, we all got together and went out to get lost in the city's pyrotechnics.

This day would hopefully serve as a reminder to the people that we fought tyranny and won 233 years ago and made certain that unjust and merciless rule could not effect us any longer. We determined that we could live the way WE wanted and without the overlord rule of an insecure and scared government. With this idea of patriotism in mind, it is time to ask, have things changed? Have we remained free? To answer these kinds of questions, ask how many places in town you can buy ammunition. Check out the new ratification of the butterfly law of the 1950s and see how many of your knives are now hitting the ILLEGAL list (in this link, check under "legality" and "United States").

We live in a glorious country, possibly the best in the world, but it will very quickly NOT be as long as we sit complacent with our blind eye pointed in the direction of the government. Watch what they are doing! Fight against what they are pushing on us! Do your part to keep this country FREE so that we have reason to celebrate Independence Day next year and the years beyond!

Those Wacky Chinese...

So anyway, There's this Chinese couple who are seeking help to get their son to quit smoking, right? You'd think that if someone's smoking, they're at least old enough to make it a conscious decision either way; but what if you're two years old? This little dude, let's call him Lo- Tar Pak, smokes a pack a day, thanks to his father, who got him started when he was one to relieve the pain of a hernia since he was too little to handle an operation to have it fixed. First off, how the hell does a one- year- old get a hernia? Second, hey, let's give him cigaretes as a painkiller: that'll do the trick.... and how does a 2- year- old use a lighter, let alone pop down to the corner bodega for a fresh pack? SOMEONE (not naming names) has to be hookin' the little tyke up for his daily fix, wouldn't you say? Man, you just can't make this stuff up.

Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Fest

If you are into metal and/or listen to our show at all, you know that the second Mayhem Fest is getting ready to start up! We have discussed this quite a bit on air. Well, today Monster and Violet got their tickets! PIT TICKETS to Mayhem!

Last year was the first year of this metal event and Monster and Violet managed to be there for the debut, the first show of the the whole gig at the White River Amphitheater in Auburn, Washington. This year, Auburn's show will be the fourth on the tour but will still be as explodingly amazing as any other.

This year, in addition to getting the motorcross psychos, Metal Mulisha, Rockstar energy drink has commissioned some heavy assed bastards to hit this Mayhem Fest! The bands will look a little something like this:

Jagermeister stage-

Monster is eager to see Trivium. Additionally, it will be exciting to see how Seattle based, NORTHWEST ROYALE sounds live.

Hot Topic Stage-

Monster is eager to see Cannibal Corpse, Behemoth, Job For A Cowboy, Whitechapel
Violet wants Job For A Cowboy and Whitechapel

And of course, the Main stage-

Monster and Violet both are eager to see Slayer and Manson. Especially after hearing how legendary their last tour was together!

And, if that wasn't enough for some reason....a late addition was made to the tour, at least for this show-

So this tour looks to be even more wild than the debut year of Mayhemfest...we can't wait!

Monster covers Radio Free Satan with more tributes this week on The Morgue. Satan's broadcasting booth is rocked, and rocked hard, by the sounds of Gooseflesh as they whip out Sepultura's Slave New World, Luciferion decides to Fight Fire With Fire, Earthcorpse provided some of Burzum's Lost Wisdom. This can go on and on as this show provided a great number of 'less than known' metal bands hitting in with some great tracks of tribute, hell; Burden of Grief and Dimension Zero even found their way on this autopsy!

In addition to these great artists, the metal heavies also weighed in as Children of Bodom redid The Ramones' Somebody Put Something in my Drink, Entombed followed the punk cover format with The Misfits and played Hollywood Babylon and Marduk did the same by covering Samhain's Macabre!

With all of this musical violence, it is tough to do anything more than sit back and listen...

Presenting: THE Ninja!

Welcome, everyone, to the maiden voyage of the S.S. Ninja (blogging on my own)..., aiding the Morgue fleet of destroyers in the murky waters of the mundane world to destroy false hopes and bring Metal to the ailing third- world minds of those who think they don't need the magic it provides. As a rather busy Ninja, I don't often get the news of the world, but you can look to me to provide provocative insights into the music universe (Cuz' if it's one thing a Ninja knows well, it's wailing guitars... and killing). Methinks you no believe me? Observe, and be amazed: As a tribute to Monster's fascination with japan and certain types of vending machines, I acquired a copy of the debut album from The Land Of The Rising Sun's very own Grief Of War, "Worship". In my opinion, worship is what this album deserves because what better way to enhance one's Ninja skills than by listening to Japanese Thrash Metal? With a skillful combination of what seems like every style of thrash I've ever heard and solos like a bloody samurai sword, it's just one whirlwind after another, great for extended swordfight scenes and violent lovemaking. Tracks of note are the title track "Worship", and "Midnight Sun" that makes me miss being a boy back home, where that's actually a true occurence. Anyway, hope everyone enjoyed my tribute to Michael Jackson and were as creeped out as everyone in the booth. If you missed it, I'm sorry but you truly missed out.

If you didn't tune in to The Morgue Radio Show on KWCW 90.5fm in the Walla Walla area, you missed a complete hearse full of depravity and vulgarity! More importantly, why the hell weren't you tuned in?!

Accompanying Monster, Violet, Butcher, Ninja, and Goblin this autopsy were attending morticians Blade, Blondie, and Tiger as well as former KWCW DJs Mikey Mike and Wraithmistress visiting from Portland, Oregon. Needless to say, the DJ booth was crammed with human flesh!

On the discussion table, Violet discussed a local event in which a man purchased fuel from a local convenience store and then proceeded to light himself on fire. This prompted discussion on suicide rates and the economy's effect on said numbers. Another bit of discussion on the table was the recent deaths of both Farrah Fawcett and Michael Jackson in which, nearly every Morgue DJ had some feeling or another. Lastly, more dirty love was discovered in the Ninja family tree!

On the music level, the show was kicked off with a brand new Devildriver track as well as new Graves of Valor. The Morgue morticians had to work very hard to keep the energy high enough to match the opening tracks and so, Despised Icon, Bloodbath, Embalmer, Turisas, Brother Von Doom, and Einherjer were ripped out, among others, including a fresh one from 1349!

The discussions were great, the metal music was outrageous, all in all, this was another can't miss Morgue Radio Show autopsy!

Morgue DJs unite! kinda

Just as the radio broadcast version of the Morgue Radio Show acts a free flowing platform for all of the DJs associated with the show to speak out however the hell they choose, this blogspot, The Morgue's official website (for the time being), has opened its virtual doors to all DJs of The Morgue to say equally stupid things online!
(Now, finding out if these music munching morticians actually USE this site remains to be seen).

If the devil possesses their idle hands long enough to get them to type their morbid misgivings, you should hear from Violet, Butcher, and Ninja alongside the mutilated Monster...we will see about getting other DJs along for the ride, such as CS and Goblin. For now, well...all you cadavers have to deal with this macabre Monster indulging in mortuary delights.

Hi Everybody! Your friendly neighborhood Ninja here, to fling some throwing stars of musical wisdom right in your face. Are you a fan of great bands like Cannibal Corpse, Vomitory, & Deicide? Rose Funeral's "The Resting Sonata" offers all that and more, rolled up in a ball of bloody guts for your demented pleasure. With crushing grooves and insane two- tone vocals, you have your pick of songs like the cannibalistic "Created To Kill", the blackness of "Left To Rot", or the everyday brutality of "Buried Beneath". The most impressive part of this whole album is the fact that it's totally savage clean through, but when you hit the middle of the last track, you get hit with a totally power metal yodel (for want of a better word); it's awesome! This is a good album for a bad day, and really perks you up when you're pissed off and have to slip through the shadows to wreak a little vengeance on all who wronged you that day.

Morgue Metal this week

This week sees the maniacal return of The MORGUE Radio Show on KWCW! Now that the summer schedule has begun, so has the metal morticians' reign of terror. Monster and Violet caught up on a backlog of request lists which included metal from Cattle Decapitation, Cannibal Corpse, Overkill, Evile, Possessed, Exodus and more. Monster popped out some trivia style questions to fellow his DJs such as, "What is the most outlandish religion," "What is the single most frustrating thing about the government," and "What do you consider the greatest threat to mankind?"
Violet pulled out a couple episodes of Neurotically Yours from Illwill Press in which, Germain has called the fat help hotline and found out that eating in the bathroom is a sign of obesity. No DJ had admitted to this, though Ninja alluded to it and, through more prodding, we uncover a bigger mystery about Ninja and his lover CS...are they brother and sister?!

Meanwhile, on the Radio Free Satan front, Monster plays some insane covers like Slayer's Raining Blood by Malevolent Creation; Dimmu Borgir hitting Accept's Metal Heart; Emperor covering Bathory's A Fine Day to Die; and Sepultura's Troops of Doom as recreated by Dimension Zero.
Next week will see Dark Funeral and Vader among others.

Online, due to managerial issues (on Monster's end) The MORGUE will not be broadcasting a new episode of The MORGUE on Radio Free Satan. The plus side is that you will be able to enjoy a quality episode that has been previously released (or for those that are not politically-fuck-off-correct, you are stuck with a rerum)!

Don't sweat bullets because The MORGUE will be in proper operating order VERY soon! Even if Monster has to endure some lashings to be certain.

With the exception of mainstream heavies such as Slipknot, Slayer, or Disturbed, metal music has seldom met with the success that would enable a musician to be so financially secure that economic crisis is no more of a worry than which cereal to eat for breakfast.
Today's society is still deeply mired in crisis and it has begun to hit the metal world as evidenced by a new turn of events in which German metal label SPV has reportedly submitted an application to commence the German equivalent of Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection.

“Normal business will continue even after the application for insolvency.” Manfred Schütz, managing partner, stated. This statement helps eliminate some fear as it shows that the label that has given us great bands like Kreator, Iced Earth, Metal Church, Nuclear Assault, Moonspell, Dio, Type O Negative, and Chthonic (among many others)has no plans on going an y where but up! This may be a tough 25th anniversary, but they plan on having many more!

Monster and Violet have stumbled upon Walla Walla’s dirty little secret, the Taboo Lingerie Shop. This quiet little shop, tucked neatly into 513 N. Wilbur Avenue in the Eastgate area, is very discreet from the street, though it is not difficult to find. Last weekend, the KWCW broadcasting booth had shut down for their quarterly 'change of the guards' so the local branch of this evil empire is currently on hiatus.

The online branch of The MORGUE is up and operational as usual at Radio Free Satan. This week, Monster trampled through the covers of the corpses and found rare beauties underneath. The show kicked into gear with Aggressor covering King Diamond's Welcome Home and it just got more intense from there as Slayer got the black metal treatment by way of Cradle of Filth, Zyklon covered Morbid Angel's Dominate, Crematorium blasted through some Cold Gin, originally by KISS and Nazareth even made the show by way of Zimmer's Hole who covered This Flight Tonight alongside the many other tracks in the show. Monster's personal pick of the show was Iron Maiden's The Trooper, covered by Children of Bodom!

Key in to next week's show for another lethal dose of the bleakest metal ever to fall upon mortal ears!

Holographic Universe

When Scar Symmetry's second album, Pitch | Black | Progress, was released, Monster took a chance at grabbing it up. The CD went directly from the checkout line at Hasting's into the stereo, which is where it stayed for an insane amount of time! So, two agonizing years later, when they decided to release Holographic Universe, picking up the album was a no brainer!
This group of Swedish song-crafters obviously worked hard on their third release to continue carrying the torch and did not disappoint! Their own mixture of technical death metal and powerful vocals screams through the wall of metal straight into your ears in a wave of euphoria. This album is an absolute must in a collection, even if it does land just an inch shy of their sophomore release.

What started out as a calm and collected metal show with a small number of guest DJs ended up being a wild excursion into the realm of perversity and depravity! Monster and Violet started off the show in brutal fashion with some new Cannibal Corpse and also a track from Skinless. By the time these two tracks ran their course, Ninja and CS arrived along with Blade and shortly following were Goblin and Chuckles, quickly turning the broadcasting booth into a sweaty locker room for Hell's sports team, full of heat and body mass. Between the requests for Enslaved, Nile, Trivium, Vader, Suffocation, and many others as well as the shout outs from one listening cadaver to another, we found ourselves wrapped tightly between two stories of sexual exploration, each story incited by one of the female morticians within the booth.

First, CS had begun discussing issues with lactation and how her partner is on the verge of causing her to begin her breasty seeping, without the benefit of pregnancy due to his over-zealous attention to her chest glands. The resultant effect of this conversation was a finishing of what was started with CS bleeding milk.

Later in the episode, Violet's concern for making her Monster happy on their planned trip to Japan has caused her to need more information on the proper ettiquette for finding, making and giving soiled panties. This discussion lead into more fetish and secret desire discussion with the entire booth alight in arousal!

The battle of the band discussion this week was, which album from the eighties was better, Ozzy Osbourne's Diary Of A Madman or Motley Crue's Shout At The Devil? This was an excellent source of debate with the broadcasting booth torn in half on the decision and the final vote coming in from a long time listener in favor of Diary Of A Madman.

Our show ended on an upnote for mothers seeing that we ran into the wee hours of Mother's Day. To all the mommies out there, we gave Cannibal Corpse's Butchered At Birth! Happy Mother's Day!

Monster's Movie Review

X-Men Origins: Wolverine

This prequel to the mediocre X-Men trilogy takes Marvel Comics' most popular mutant and provides one hour, forty-seven minutes of his own time! Some would argue that this was not enough time and some may say it was too much but one thing stands clear, the time they did use to portray some of this hairy mutant's history was rich in action and mutant cameos, from the humorously portrayed Fred Dukes (a.k.a. Blob) to Ryan Reynolds' perfectly accurate Wade Wilson.

Without providing much of a spoiler, I will say that, though the history and proximity of the storyline does not fall in line closely to the source material (where was Department H- the Canadian program? What was the deal with the heightened senses only working when it helped further the plot?) the plot line and the flow of the movie was incredibly adrenaline filled which forces you at blade point to use no more than the front edge of the seat.

Among the many other aspects of beautifully crafted eye candy that this flick offers the uninitiated and fanboy alike, the opening title sequence is actually one of the highlights of the film as it follows the world's favorite furball through every major war in United States history.

Being a long time X-Men fan, I was put off by some of the modifications made for the 'benefit' of the average movie-goer, but was happily willing to forgive these things due to the high volume of hidden fanboy fun and the excellently crafted visual effects. I give this great comic adaptation three sharpened claws up!

I wanted to stop by and drop the very first update off in our soon-to-be long list of blog updates!

This week on Radio Free Satan's Morgue, I go about committing tribute villainy as I highlight some metal covers that have been put out to commemorate bands of the distant and not-so-distant past! We dug out some Celtic Frost, Crush Efekt, Defleshed, and Anathema.

Last week on KWCW, we executed (on-air) the attack on Ninja's balls! That's right, two weeks ago, we asked that any listener that wants to hear our co-host Ninja get smacked in the sack by the Monster's foot to write in and request it! Naturally, that incited quite the response and, as a result, Ninja got one swift kick for each request. OUCH! Fortunately, Monster's martial arts training gave him the ability to show some restraint which allowed him to not put his Ninjastic friend in the hospital having to explain to nurse Betty why his boys have black eyes!
Oh yeah, we also got some great music in as well from bands like Ensiferum, John 5, Destroy Destroy Destroy, High On Fire, Five Finger Death Punch, and the Evil Elvis, Danzig!

Welcome to The MORGUE Radio Show's official blogspot on the internet!

In the future, your radio DJs Monster and Violet plan on bringing you news and updates on the music scene, discuss our favorite metal, and immerse ourselves in more than the music but also the many popular culture media and activities that make the show worth listening to as well as the life of a music enthusiast so much more unique than the hum-drum sheeple in today's society!

For now, an introduction:
The MORGUE Radio Show runs on two stations.

The first and original station to air The MORGUE is none other than the almost famous KWCW 90.5 fm, Walla Walla, Washington's own radio station, serving the citizens of the valley for over 25 years and playing host to many great and not-so-great radio programs. The MORGUE began broadcasting on KWCW in the Summer of 2004, providing heavy metal and hard rock. As the years began stacking up, so did the level of musical intensity of the Morgue's tracklists moving from heavy to downright primal metal!
Today, the live version of The MORGUE still broadcasts every Saturday night at 10pm (PST) and has picked up some hosts along the way. In addition to MONSTER and VIOLET, this Saturday night slice of chaos also sees frequency by fellow regular morticians, Butcher and Ninja along with occasional grave-robbings from CS, Goblin, Chuckles, Ogre, and Blade.

The second station to carry The MORGUE Radio Show is the very diabolical Radio Free Satan! This online presence has sheltered The Morgue since the beginning of 2006. Though not as long as the KWCW version, this episode cuts straight into the meat of the music. With less hosts, comes less banter and more music per pound! This version of The Morgue is also an excellent platform for extreme metal.
